Use SectraTEK lawfully, and keep case data out of our systems.
The rules for everyone who uses SectraTEK services: visitors, people who submit a form, and every user in a customer organization.
About this policy
Version 1.0. Last updated October 21, 2026.
This policy sets out how SectraTEK services may be used, so that the work done with them stays lawful, careful and fair to the people it touches. Please read it before you use the website, My Sectra, support or the SectraTEK applications.
1. Who this policy covers
It applies to everyone who uses a SectraTEK service: visitors to this website, people who submit a form, and every user in a customer organization who uses My Sectra, support, downloads or the SectraTEK applications. It forms part of the Terms of Use and of the SectraTEK license agreement. If a signed agreement with us covers the same point, that agreement controls. Otherwise this policy applies.
2. Never send us case data
Your evidence belongs on your own systems. We do not need it, and we ask you never to send it to us.
Do not put any of the following in a support ticket, a ticket attachment, a support bundle, a contact, quote or demo request, an email, or a call with us:
- evidence, extractions or copies of the contents of a device;
- case names or numbers, or file names or paths that identify a case;
- findings or reports about a person or a device;
- personal data of the people who are the subject of an investigation, including in screenshots;
- anything else that is the content of a case.
Describe a problem in general terms instead, for example “processing stopped and showed an error code”. If you send case data by mistake, tell us right away at support@sectratek.com. We will isolate it, delete every copy we hold, tell your organization and record the incident.
3. Use SectraTEK lawfully, and only where you are authorized
Examine a device with SectraTEK only where you have the legal right to do so. That means one of these:
- you own the device;
- the owner or the person entitled to decide has given you informed consent;
- you act under lawful authority, such as a warrant, a court order or a statute;
- you act under a valid engagement with an organization that has the authority to examine the device.
You must not use SectraTEK, or any report made with it, to stalk, harass, threaten or covertly monitor anyone, to gain access to accounts or information you are not entitled to, to examine a device that was obtained unlawfully, to retaliate against anyone, or to help someone else do any of these things. Finding a threat on a device does not give you the right to go further than your authority allows.
You are responsible for following the laws and professional rules that apply to your work, including privacy, employment, evidence-handling and data protection rules where you operate. Tell us if you believe SectraTEK is being used against this section, and see section 7.
4. Protect your account and your license
- Keep your passkey, authenticator app and recovery codes to yourself. Never share a password or a code with anyone, including anyone who says they are from SectraTEK.
- Use each license only as the license agreement allows.
- If you manage an organization account, remove users who have left and keep contact details current.
- Tell us promptly if you think an account, a device or a license has been compromised.
5. Do not abuse or attack the service
You must not:
- try to reach accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or test our systems for weaknesses other than under the Vulnerability Disclosure Policy;
- overload the service, send automated bulk requests, or work around rate limits and spam protections;
- alter, block, delete or falsify the usage records that the applications send, or try to defeat license, activation or update checks;
- upload malware or files designed to cause harm, or files that an upload form does not accept;
- use our forms or email features to send messages to other people, or to send spam;
- copy the website or its content in bulk, or resell access to the service, beyond what your license allows;
- pretend to be SectraTEK, Prudential Associates, another customer or anyone else.
6. Honest dealings with support
Give accurate information when you open a ticket or contact us, and treat our staff with courtesy. We may end an interaction that is abusive. Our official addresses, and what we never ask for, are on the Trust page.
7. Reporting a breach of this policy
Report suspected misuse of SectraTEK to support@sectratek.com. We take reports that SectraTEK is being used to stalk or surveil someone seriously. Report a security vulnerability under the Vulnerability Disclosure Policy rather than in a support ticket, and please do not post it publicly first.
8. What we may do
If we believe this policy has been broken, SectraTEK staff will look into it. We review the facts and, wherever we can, contact the customer first. Depending on what we find and how serious it is, we may warn you, remove material, suspend access, end a license as the license agreement provides, and tell the affected customer or the authorities where the law requires or allows it. We act in proportion to the problem, and we may act at once where that is needed to protect people or the service.
9. Changes and acknowledgement
We may update this policy. The version and date are at the top of this page. Customer users are asked to acknowledge the current version when they sign in to My Sectra, and again when it changes.
